LEGO Robotics After School Program
We are happy to have generated a lot of buzz and questions about a new after school program we are exploring this year at Maple Grove for 3rd-5th graders. We will be having an informational meeting next Tuesday night, October 11, from 6:00-7:00 pm in our cafeteria. During this time, representatives from 4-H and our Dallas County and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offices will be here to talk about the program and how we will implement it at Maple Grove this year. There will be a parent meeting in the cafeteria and students will be able to experiment and play with the LEGOs in the gym. Due to the large interest in the program, we are asking that parents only bring their 3rd-5th graders to this meeting.

Odds-n-Ends…but still very important!
Parent Teacher conference sign up sheets will be located in the main hallway of Maple Grove starting Monday, October 10th. Every parent or guardian should stop in anytime between October 10th and the 20th to sign up for a conference time slot. Conferences cannot be set up via email or over the phone. Our conferences do not begin until November 12th, but we want to ensure every parent has time to meet with their child’s teacher(s) November 12-18.
Our PTO fall fundraiser kicked off today (Oct 7th). Information came home regarding the fundraiser and an option this year to provide a direct donation to opt out of participating in the fundraiser. We appreciate the input from all parents regarding our fundraising efforts at Maple Grove. To be very honest with you, it is my least favorite part of my job but I do know that we would not be able to provide our students, teachers and classrooms the resources and technology we have without your efforts and donations. All money raised this year will help us finish installing computer projectors in every classroom! Please look for more information in your child’s bag about this fundraiser!
