Shuler Third Graders Create Own Versions of Blue Dog

Talking Canvas creation by Natalie Gallagher, third grader in Ms. Jacobson’s class at Shuler Elementary.

During Talking Canvas lessons, third graders learned about Cajun artist George Rodrigue.  Rodrigue grew up in Louisiana and began painting outdoor family gatherings.  He is best known for his creation of the Blue Dog series of paintings, featuring a blue-hued dog.  Rodrigue did this in memory of his deceased dog named Tiffany.  Third graders had fun learning about this talented artist and creating their own versions of Blue Dog.
