Shuler Second Graders Research the Animal Kingdom

Second graders at Shuler Elementary are busy learning all about the animal kingdom! They have learned about the different classifications and characteristics of animals and had the opportunity to research an animal they are interested in. This unit also gives students the opportunity to learn about animal life cycles. Second graders are observing and interacting with mealworms, milkweed bugs and painted lady caterpillars.

To top off this unit, students will be Skyping with an intern from the Mote Marine Lab in Sarasota, Florida, to learn about manatee care, training and research.
