New Process for Kindergarten Registration 2012
Returning parents will notice some changes in the kindergarten registration process this year. In an effort to make the transition to elementary school more efficient, parents will now be able to complete enrollment forms for kindergarten online.
The online enrollment portal will open March 6. Parents will access the portal by visiting the kindergarten registration webpage. There is no password or login required to complete the forms. Parents will have three weeks to complete the online process before the portal closes.
“Parents can complete more than 10 forms during the enrollment process and many of the forms ask for the same information over and over again. This online process will save time by auto filling some of the boxes for parents. Also, this will allow us to quickly import the information into PowerSchool saving hours of staff time,” said Darryl Downs, Manager of Information Systems for Waukee Schools.
Kindergarten Registration Night, which will be held at each elementary attendance center, is Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 6:30 pm. Parents will be able to visit a typical classroom and have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of kindergarten programming.
Paper copies of proof of residency, proof of birth and a doctor’s office copy of an immunizations record are still required to complete the enrollment process. Parents are asked to return these copies with the registration cover sheet to the Central Administration Office at 560 Southeast University Avenue, Waukee, Iowa 50263. Online directions and the registration cover sheet can be downloaded here.
Families wishing to complete the enrollment process using the paper process may do so by picking up materials at the student’s attendance center, central administration office, or online at the district website.
