Des Moines Symphony in Waukee March 9
The Des Moines Symphony is excited to perform a special concert at 7:30 p.m., March 9 at the Waukee High School Auditorium. Jennifer Frautschi, the Grammy-nominated and Avery Fisher Prize-winning American violinist, makes her Iowa debut collaborating with Joseph Giunta and the Orchestra in Barber’s tuneful and rhythmic Violin Concerto. The Orchestra also performs Tchaikovsky’s great last symphony, the Pathetique, the composer’s most soul-searching musical evocation. The evening opens with Kay’s Cakewalk: Concert Suite, a pithy piece inspired by comic skits and dance. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students through www.seatyourself.biz/waukeehs. Experience the music…LIVE! with your Des Moines Symphony. We look forward to seeing you there!
