Hyperstream Recognized at Prometheus Awards Ceremony
Waukee Middle School Hyperstream Club was recognized at the Technology Association of Iowa’s 2012 Prometheus Awards ceremony April 11. Sixth graders Alex Aubert, Ledg Downs and seventh grader Bailey Moyle attended the event with a parent.
The Prometheus event is considered to be the largest technology event in Iowa and the industry’s most prestigious award. Hundreds of industry leaders from business, education, and government are expected to be in attendance. The Awards are devoted to promoting and celebrating the innovation and high-tech excellence in Iowa. This show case honors companies and individuals who represent the best and brightest in technology and business and have demonstrated outstanding leadership and innovation. Prometheus was the Greek god of creativity, intellect, and boldness.
Hyperstream is a student organization sponsored by the Technology Association of Iowa. They meet after school and partner with professionals from around the area. Hyperstream is offered at Waukee Middle School and at Waukee High School. Students learn anything from marketing to computer programming. Hyperstream gives students hands-on experience in advanced areas of technology in a myriad of career fields.
