Fall Harvest Party Guidelines Reminder
Our Fall Harvest Parties will be held tomorrow, Friday, October 26, from 2:30-3:15 p.m.
All Waukee Elementary students are invited to wear costumes at the party. If any children would rather not wear a costume, they are welcome and encouraged to wear fall colors instead. Parents, it is important that you keep the costumes as simple as possible, with little adult help needed prior to the party. Also, in an attempt to downplay the commercialism of violence and gore, we ask you to send a costume to school with your child that is appropriate for elementary children. We will not allow the wearing of a costume that portrays violence, blood, gore, death themes, guns, knives, death stars, etc. Please realize that children will not be allowed to wear any costume that fits the above description. Children will also not be allowed to use face paints and colored hair sprays. CHILDREN SHOULD NOT WEAR THEIR COSTUMES TO SCHOOL. THEY SHOULD BRING THEIR COSTUME IN A BAG. Costumes will be removed before going home.
Parents who are volunteering at the Fall Parties will be asked to sign in and wait in the entryway until 2:15 p.m. Volunteers will be allowed to go to classrooms for party set-up at 2:15 p.m. We discourage younger siblings from attending classroom parties with parents. Also, if you choose to eat lunch with your child tomorrow, please know that you will be asked to wait until 2:15pm to go to classrooms for party set-up. We are excited about the new party-planning our PTO has organized this year and look forward to a fun afternoon!
Thank you in advance for adhering to our Fall Party guidelines!
