South Middle 6th Graders Create Plays
Sixth graders at South Middle School created their own plays in their speech and drama classes. First they made a storyboard of their ideas and created plan. Then students located costumes and props for the show. Finally, they planned the lighting. Each class broke into five or six groups, brainstorming ideas for a dream character they would like to play. The students then come together to problem solve and build upon their ideas. The final result was a play that allowed students to work on volume, facing the audience and creating character.
