Third Graders Create “Mini-Me”
At Eason Elementary, our third grade students learn about the meaning of community in social studies. In art, teacher Melinda Turnbull helped them look at how they are a part of the Eason third grade community. They created a “mini-me” from a recycled water bottle, paper mache, paint, and constructed details to reveal their role in the Eason community. These sculptures are arranged in the display cases in the front entry of the school and the students enjoy finding their “mini-me” and trying to guess which sculpture represents which third grader.
