Eason Fifth Graders Enjoy DARE
Eason fifth grade students have started DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) in the classroom and are really enjoying it! DARE meets once a week on Fridays for 40 minutes. Waukee Police Officer Makenzie Sposeto does an excellent job of teaching the students how to make good choices in the classroom and in social situations. In one lesson, the students were allowed to try on vision-impaired goggles to simulate being under the influence of alcohol. It was an eye-opening experience for the students. One student commented on how her distance perception was way off, and another was so dizzy he almost fell down. This was a great lesson for students to realize how dangerous it is to drink and drive!
