Summer at Beyond the Bell
Beyond the Bell is gearing up for their eighth year of summer programming and preparing for a very busy 2013-14 school year. This summer they will host programs at Maple Grove, Shuler and Walnut Hills Elementary Schools.
Summer programing promises to keep children active, encourage them to be creative, develop great friendships, have fun and experience cool field trips. With all three summer sites at near full capacity, staff are working hard to plan our fun filled summer.
Each week will have a theme with corresponding crafts, activities and field trips. During our Artrageous Week (June 17 – 21) children will get to paint cups and plates. The plates and cups will be taken to Whatta Dish in Valley Junction, where they will be glazed and returned. Children will be able to use the plates and cups after the glazing process.
Throughout the summer children will enjoy a number of fun and exciting field trips. Our most popular week is Islands of Adventure Week (June 24 – June 28). During this week children will go on a hike at Ledges State Park and go to Adventureland. Other field trips include an Iowa Cubs game, tour of the Iowa Speedway, Heritage Carousel and a weekly trip to a local aquatic center.
In August, Beyond the Bell will add their fourth site with the opening of Woodland Hills Elementary. Enrollment is still being offered for the Woodland Hills site only as all the other schools are currently at capacity. For more information about enrollment click here.
