4th Annual Love to Volunteer Fair

On February 13, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the Waukee High School will host its 4th Annual Love to Volunteer Fair. The fair will host more than 30 local non-profit organizations in the west gym. Waukee high school students will be invited to visit with each attending non-profit and learn about possible volunteer and Silver Cord opportunities.

The fair is organized by the Waukee Silver Cord and School-to-Work Programs. The purpose of the Waukee Silver Cord Program is to instill within the students the importance of community service, and encourage students to be accountable for investing in their own education and in the community on a regular basis during their school years.  Silver cords are worn at the graduation ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of students who actively participated in community service during their time at Waukee.
