Kinetic and Potential Energy

To demonstrate the transfer of kinetic to potential energy, Mr. Town told a few stories about working construction and transferring materials/tools onto a house by tossing them up.

After observing and discussing the transfer of energy and identifying maximum kinetic and potential energy moments, students hypothesized how two balls falling in line with one another would react.  The launch of the smaller ball up to the ceiling of the atrium surprised the kids (and Mr. Barry!).

In Mr. Tow’s class this past week, students were introduced to kinetic and potential energy.
