Shuler Art and Science Fair 2015
On February 3, Shuler Elementary students were invited to showcase art and science displays they had created throughout the hallways of the school. Staff began informing students of this optional Art and Science Fair before winter break. Students were allowed to work on projects centered around art and science with their family members.
What began as an evening science fair in the cafeteria five years ago has blossomed into a large art and science fair where students and parents can view the projects that students and their families worked on during the school day. The Shuler PTO helped out by hosting mini assemblies, helping plan and coordinate the fair and buying the awards. This is an opportunity for students to collaborate with their parents at home.
On February 6, Shuler students, staff and parents gathered for an assembly to recognize the fair’s participants and grand prize winners. “Collaboration between Shuler Elementary, families, students and our PTO has made this a great event where all students can participate. It is such an exciting event and we are already thinking about how to expand it next year,” Karen Allison, Shuler Elementary Principal, said.
