2015-16 Bus Information Available in PowerSchool
This afternoon, August 17, all families received an email with their busing information. This email went to all families to help identify the families who had successfully registered for transportation.
If you received an email with blank information this means your student is either not signed up for transportation services or has not been assigned to a route yet.
If your email was blank and you are NOT interested in using the transportation service there is nothing else you need to do.
If you recently completed the transportation form please allow 48 hours for the request to be processed. If you need to complete a new transportation form, update information or the information emailed to you was incorrect, please submit a new transportation form available online here: https://www.waukeeschools.org/our-district/transportation/.
If it has been longer than 48 hours since completing the transportation form, please contact the transportation department at: 515-987-2788.
If you did not receive an email or you accidently deleted the message, bus information is also viewable in PowerSchool here: https://ps.waukeeschools.org/public/.
Bus Transportation Fees:
To receive free bus transportation service from home to the school building, the primary home address must be located outside a one-mile boundary for elementary students or a two-mile boundary for secondary students. Distance to and from school is determined by Durham School Services’ GPS routing system. Students who qualify for the free or reduced lunch program may be eligible for free or reduced transportation pricing. If you have questions about bus transportation fees contact please Amy Patters at 515-987-5161 x4500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Busing and applicable fees are determined by your primary home address:
Elementary: more than 1 mile from the school = free
Secondary: more than 2 miles from the school = free
Fees (students located inside one-mile or two-mile boundaries):
$280 per year, round trip, per child
$140 per year, one-way, per child
All transportation services are provided subject to the rules and regulations for school bus transportation by the Waukee Community School District. By registering your student, you acknowledge the applicability of those rules and regulations and agree to be bound by them. Transportation rules and regulations are available online in each student handbook here.
Please feel free to contact Durham School Services office at 515-987-2788 with questions about routes, distances or other busing needs. We look forward to providing transportation services for your student(s) this year.
