Waukee Elementary Students Donate Halloween Candy To Troops

Nicole Kennedy’s fourth grade class at Waukee Elementary School has been focusing on Seek to Understand, Then to be Understood. This is the fifth habit of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

The class has been talking about veterans they have in their families and how they can show their support.  The class decided to bring in any extra candy from Halloween to donate to the troops overseas. Operation Gratitude is an organization that sends care packages to troops.  The students brought in more 30 pounds of candy!  The class was excited to participate in this project.
