Waukee High School Intramurals Start in September

Waukee High School (WHS)students now have more opportunities to be involved in physical activities than ever before. Waukee High School Intramurals for fall 2016 will start in September.

The district launched its co-ed intramurals program last year. The program is ran by the Waukee Community Education department and provides students an opportunity to participate in activities like flag football, volleyball, basketball, dodgeball and soccer.

The program’s launch was a huge success with more than 500 sophomores, juniors and seniors participating in the program during the 2015-16 school year.  Plans are also in the works to add kickball and yoga to the list of opportunities available to students.

Getting involved is easy! WHS Intramurals uses an online system called IMLeagues for all registration and program communications. Students are required to register for each activity they would like to participate in.

Participation in intramurals not only provides a chance for students to be active, but nurtures a healthy spirit of competition, sportsmanship and teamwork. All students in grades 10-12 are encouraged to get involved.
