Waukee Foundations Scholarships Food Drive
Good afternoon families!
Please help the Fourth Graders at Maple Grove IMPACT OUR WORLD! We are getting ready for the annual WAUKEE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS FOOD DRIVE to benefit the Waukee Area Christian Food Pantry! This drive brings in the largest amount of food that the pantry receives all year. Our food pantry feeds over 100 families every month (and growing)! Maple Grove Elementary’s focus is to collect items to meet baby needs this year: diapers (size 4 and up), baby food (all stages), formula, and baby wipes. We would also accept canned or boxed food to help those in need. We are currently collecting items now through November 17th. We would love your assistance in Impacting our World by helping serve the needs of our community. Cash or check donations can also be turned in to the front office (payable to Waukee Area Christian Food Pantry). You can also donate via Revtrak for your convenience! All funds will be contributed to the pantry to purchase food at reduced rates.

Waukee Nutrition Department News
As the season changes and the leaves turn colors, we look forward to classroom parties. When it comes to the lists of things to get done to have a great party, think of the Waukee Nutrition Department to help you out. With a good list of heathy treats, as well as cookies and cupcakes, they can be the one stop shop for your classroom treats. To order, visit RevTrak on the Waukee Schools website and look for the classsroom treats icon.
2016-2017 Giving Tree
Starting on November 14, Maple Grove will begin a new annual tradition – the Giving Tree. This will help offer support to deserving families in our community. Paper ornaments will be hung around the windows of the office and on a tree inside the office. Written on the ornaments are items that some of our deserving Maple Grove families would either enjoy or are in need of this holiday season. Parents and staff are encouraged to take an ornament with a specific gift listed that you are willing to purchase for that family. After the gift is purchased, place the gift-wrapped present under the tree with the ornament attached. The Giving Tree will end on December 16. Thank you for helping us make the holidays a little brighter for our families
