Volunteers Needed for 2017 Warrior Kids Challenge
Volunteers and participants are needed for the 2017 Waukee Warrior Kids Challenge on June 3 from 2-4 p.m. at Centennial Park.
The Waukee Warrior Kid’s Challenge, sponsored by Foth, is an opportunity for students in kindergarten through fifth grade to work toward a common goal for their school. The challenge features field day inspired games and a kid’s fun run. Participants are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the Waukee Food Pantry.
New to the event this year, come experience games and activities from cultures around the world. Students will receive a “pom-pom” for every event in which they participate regardless of their athletic ability or order of completion. The student will place the pom-pom in their school’s labeled bucket. The school with the most pom-poms at the end of the event will be the overall winner and will receive $500 from Foth to put toward a project of their choice.
Approximately 60 volunteers are needed to help facilitate field day events for students. High school students can earn Silver Cord hours by participating in this volunteer opportunity. Parents and community members are also encouraged to volunteer for the Waukee Warrior Kid’s Challenge.
