Notifications include inclement weather, late starts or other emergency situations that may arise during or after school hours. SchoolMessenger works with PowerSchool, so there is no list for parents to sign up for, however, in order for parents to receive a text message, parents must complete the “opt-in” process.
Subscribe by texting: “Y”, “Yes,” or “Subscribe” to 67587. The cell phone numbers used must be in PowerSchool to receive a notification. Unsubscribe at any time by texting the key words: “Quit”, “Remove” or “Unsubscribe” to 67587.
To make every reasonable effort to provide a safe learning enviorment for our students, all prospective volunteers must complete an online volunteer form. Join us at the Brookview Carnival Sunday, October 15 from 2-4PM at Brookview! There will be inflatables, games, cake walk, face and hair painting, and more. A new tailgate theme will be incorporated into the event, and the majority of the activities will be relocated from the crowded hallways and classrooms to the fresh air (weather permitting). We will also hold a raffle in the cafeteria to raise money for the school. We have eliminated the classroom theme raffle baskets from this year’s event to alleviate pressure from our families and teachers. Instead we will collect items for 6 themes at the school level: Hawkeye Pride, Cyclone Pride, Waukee Warrior Pride, Parents Night Out, Family Fun Night, and Taste of the Town. This is 100% voluntary, all donations are greatly appreciated, and sign up spots will be created to aid in managing the items donated and mitigate duplicate donations. Donations will be collected 10/2-10/12 in the hallway in front of Mrs. Peek’s office. Silver Cord Opportunities are already posted in Waukee HS Social Media sites for students looking for volunteer opportunities. Contact Sarah Quang with questions at email@example.com.
PTO Snack Drive!
Every day there are Brookview students who come to school without a healthy snack. Most of the time the teachers are supplying those kiddos snacks with money out of their own pockets. Please help the PTO build an “emergency snack stash” by bringing in your peanut/tree nut free snacks the weeks of September 25 and October 2.
Your contributions can simply be dropped off in the office and then Mrs. Angelino will distribute the snacks as they are needed throughout the building. If you have questions, please contact Shannon Gausman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Maren Trettin (email@example.com). Thank you for contributing to our first ever snack drive!
Mark your calendars for our upcoming restaurant nights where you don’t have to cook and a percentage of the proceeds go directly back to our school!
