Harvest Cupcakes for Classroom Parties
Waukee Nutrition Services has created a special fall treat for this year’s classroom parties. Harvest cupcakes are available for the fall harvest party on October 26. These special cupcakes are only available for delivery on October 26. Your order will be delivered to Brookview on party day.
The harvest cupcakes cost $10 per dozen and come in a choice of vanilla or chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. Please use RevTrak to order.
The Brookview Carnival is quickly approaching! This event is sponsored by the Brookview PTO and is an afternoon filled with fun for all Brookview families. The Carnival will be held on Sunday, October 15, from 2:00-4:00 PM. Activities include bounce houses, face and hair painting, spin art, a cake walk, and games. New this year we will have an Airbrush Tattoo Artist and Motorized Animal Scooters to add to the fun! All activities and refreshments are free!
In conjunction with the Carnival, we will be holding a raffle to raise money for the school. In past years each classroom has prepared a themed basket to be raffled off at the end of the Carnival. Based on feedback we have decided to eliminate the classroom baskets, and instead, reduce the themes to 6 baskets which will be collected at the school level. We hope this alleviates some of the pressure from our teachers and families, and want to stress donations to this cause are 100% voluntary. If you are interested in contributing to a basket, each of the links below will bring you to Sign Up Spots for the 6 themes.
This is merely a guide and items not on the list are greatly appreciated as well. Baskets are stationed in the hallway in front of Mrs. Peek’s office. Please have all donations to the school by the end of the day 10/12. In addition to the above 6 baskets we have been able to gather items for additional raffles such as Disney Tickets, Omaha Zoo tickets, Blank Park Zoo tickets, Legoland Chicago tickets, Iowa Wild tickets, Barnstormers tickets, SuperCuts, Salon Vici, LipSense, Mary Kay, 7 Stone Pizza, Granite City, Panera Bread, and Subway. We also have some great raffles for our BV students such as Principal for the Day, Vice Principal for the Day, Extra Recess, Pick the Friday Release Song, Lunch with a Teacher (which will also include Related Arts Teachers and Lunch with the Principal and Vice Principal).
Advance purchase raffle tickets are available for sale via RevTrak in increments of $1 and $5, with Disney as our only $5 Raffle at this time. We have again opted to purchase our Cake Walk cupcakes through the school to ensure they are peanut free and have a cupcake fund via RevTrak in hopes to offset some of the cost. Raffle tickets and cupcake donation links can be accessed here – RevTrack.

Bundle Up For Recess
Students go outside for recess everyday unless the wind chill is 0 degress or below. Students are not allowed to stay indoors for recess without a medical excuse. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. Hats and gloves are important during the winter months. Boots and snowpants are needed when there is snow on the ground. On snowy days, students are required to stay on the blacktop unless they are wearing boots and snowpants. Please remember to label all of your child’s winter clothing.
Lost and Found
Brookview’s Lost and Found is located outside the music room. Please label all jackets, coats, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, water bottles and lunch boxes. Please check the Lost and Found area often. Twice a year, at Winter Break and Spring Break, anything not labeled is donated to a charitable organization.

National School Lunch Week
Waukee Nutrition will be promoting National School Lunch Week by inviting students to invite their parents to lunch on Wed. October 11th for Mandarin Orange Chicken. Any salads or kidzables need to be pre-ordered prior to Wed. October 11th.
We encourage parents to bring exact change for their Adult Meal which is $3.60 or they can easily charge to their child’s account to help the lunch line go faster.
To make every reasonable effort to provide a safe learning environment for our students, all prospective volunteers must complete an online volunteer form. The form is found here online volunteer form. It takes about 5 minutes to complete and must be completed before you can volunteer in any of Waukee CSD’s buildings.
