The Eason PTO would like to invite all Eason students and families to Movie Night! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 21! We will be serving a FREE dinner at 6pm outside by the playground (graciously donated by Waukee Hy-Vee) followed by a movie (Moana) and popcorn at 7pm in the gym. So grab your pillows, blankets, chairs, bean bags and the entire family and join us for a fun family evening that the kids are sure to love! Please watch your email for an RSVP link and volunteer opportunities. We hope to see you there!

FALL CLASSROOM PARTIES

If you signed up to volunteer for one of our three Classroom Parties this year, THANK YOU!  The PTO has been working with the Eason office to assign volunteers for each classroom party this year, and all volunteers have been notified.  More volunteers may be needed for some parties, and the individual teachers will ask if more are needed.

Our Fall Classroom Parties will be held on Thursday, October 26 from 2:30 – 3:25 p.m.  All children are invited to wear costumes during the party.    It is important that you keep the costumes as simple as possible, with little adult help necessary prior to the party. We also ask you to send a costume to school with your child that is appropriate for elementary children.  We will not allow the wearing of a costume that portrays violence, bloodiness, gore, death themes, guns, knives, death stars, etc.  Children will not be allowed to wear face paints or colored hair sprays/gels.  Children should NOT wear their costumes to school.  They should bring their costumes in a sack (complete with their name).  Your child will remove his/her costume before dismissal.  We very much appreciate all of the parent volunteers who organize and lead the parties.  Please leave other siblings at home so you can focus on the children in the classroom and fulfill your leadership role.  Thank you!

Harvest Cupcakes for Fall Parties!

WaukeeNutrition Services has created a special fall treat for this year’s classroom parties.  Harvest cupcakes are available for delivery to your student’s classroom during the fall harvest party on October 26.  These special cupcakes are only available for delivery on October 26.  Your order will be delivered to your students’ classroom between 10-11am.

The harvest cupcakes cost $10 per dozen and come in a choice of vanilla or chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.

National TAKE YOUR PARENTS TO LUNCH DAY!  Brought to you by the Waukee Nutrition Department

Parents:  Please join your child for lunch in the school cafeteria on Wednesday, Oct. 11 to see and taste the delicious, healthy food we’re serving each day!  See directly how school meals are meeting federal nutritional standards.  For lunch that day, we will be serving Mandarin orange chicken with rice, broccoli, peaches, and cherry slushies. Parents may also opt for a salad or a kidzable (similar to a Lunchable).  Please designate Hot Lunch, Salad, or Kidzable when ordering.  Adult lunches cost $3.60, and you are strongly encouraged to take that cost out of your child’s lunch account.  If paying with cash, please bring the exact change or small bills only.  No bills higher than a $10 bill will be accepted, Please e-mail our kitchen supervisor, Mary Diemer, at mdiemer@waukeeschools.org and let her know how many adults will be joining your child.  Come to the Eason office a few minutes prior to your child’s lunch time to get a sticker.  If you have not had your driver’s license scanned into our system yet this year, please bring it with you.

We look forward to seeing you for lunch!

All Waukee Elementary schools schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences via the Internet. Between Oct. 20 – Nov. 3, you will have the opportunity to access your student’s teachers’ conference calendar and pick an available time that best fits your schedule.

Conferences will take place November 11 – 17.  All teachers will hold conferences from 2:00-4:00 on Wednesday, November 15 and from 4:00-8:00 on Thursday, November 16.  Each teacher will also schedule four additional hours outside of the school day during the week for conferences to occur.

2. From the Online Scheduler Home Page

If you only have one student, answer NO to that question.
