W.E. Totem Tales 10/20
Message from Mrs. Johnson
As we approach the end of October it’s fun to reflect on the growth we’ve seen already this school year and continue to work towards our goals as learners and leaders. There is a lot going on this time of year so here are a few things to note:
Our Fall Harvest Parties will be Thursday, October 26th, from 2:30-3:15 pm at Waukee Elementary. All Waukee Elementary students are invited to wear costumes at the party. Children should not wear their costumes to school. Students should bring their costumes in a bag on party day. If students would rather not wear a costume, they are welcome and encouraged to wear fall colors instead. It is important to keep costumes as simple as possible. Remember that our district uses a system that requires all visitors to scan their photo ID and have a name badge to enter the school. With many people attending on party day, there could be a wait. If you’ve already had your ID scanned in the system this fall, please e-mail your child’s teacher by the end of the day Tuesday 10/24 to let us know you’re coming and we’ll pre-print your badge. If you haven’t been scanned into our system this fall, please stop into the office prior to 10/26, and asked to be entered.
Conferences will be held between November 11-17th this fall. The online system for scheduling conferences is open now-November 3rd for parents to select a conference time. **Please note: Only one conference per child will be scheduled. We look forward to the opportunity to celebrate and share student learning and leadership!
