WINTER PARTIES THURSDAY 12/21 – A REMINDER FROM THE NURSE
BE CONCIENTIOUS. PLEASE respect district policy in regards to candy and treats and all classroom allergies during the Winter Party:
MORE NURSE NOTES
The cold & flu season is upon us. Please do not send your child to school if the following things have occurred in the past 24 hours:
Sending students to school within the 24 hour period (even if they seem to feel fine) can cause other students to become ill, and if your child is still sick they will not be at their best for learning that day. Thank you for helping keep our students healthy!
SAVE THE DATE!
Mark your calendars for Eason’s Winter Carnival on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Prairieview School. The start time is still to be determined, but will most likely be 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. This year’s carnival will feature carnival games, a basket raffle, a balloon artist, face painting, and other exciting events! You won’t want to miss it! Watch for more information from the Eason PTO regarding on-line ticket purchasing, volunteer opportunities and basket raffle donations. See you there!
FAMILY BLANKET-MAKING FOR CHARITY
Please join us for the second annual Eason BLANKET BLITZ! In place of our regularly scheduled PTO meeting, we would like to invite all Eason families to gather at Eason on Monday, December 18, from 6-8pm (come and go using as much time as you need) to make blankets. Last year we donated our blankets to Blank Children’s Hospital. This year we will be donating them to the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Often times children must quickly leave home to escape a domestic violence situation, leaving all belongings behind. Blankets can offer a cozy hug to many kids facing uncertainty.
How does it work? You’ll shop beforehand for two yards each of two coordinating pieces of fleece (blanket kits are also available at various stores and on-line). Please wash the fabric beforehand. We’ll meet on the 18th to cut fringe on the edges and tie the two pieces together to make a blanket. If you plan to make multiple blankets, you can pin and cut your fabric before the event for quick and easy tying at the event. Fun colors and patterns are loved by all and will help to make the holidays a little more cheerful (examples include: camo, sports, rainbows, animals, fun patterns, solid colors, Disney etc). The blankets will be given to boys and girls ages 2-18. To ensure we end up with a good variety, please use the following link to sign up for a gender and age group:

Not able to make the event? Please feel free to create your blankets at home and drop them off at Eason or send them to school with your child on December 18.
It’s the season for giving – thank you for helping to make a difference! — Eason PTO
EASON NIGHT AT THE FIELDHOUSE!
