EASON’S SCIENCE & ART FAIRFor:  All Eason Students – Complete as an individual or in a group.

Friday, April 13th 

When:  7:30 – 8:30 AM                  Project drop off. (Note:  New this year, there is also an optional drop off time on Thursday night, April 12th, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. if that is easier for families. This is for project set up only, not a viewing time.)

9:00 – 3:30 PM                   Classrooms tour projects

4:00 – 5:30 PM                   Families visit the Fair

5:30 – 6:00 PM                   Project pick up

Where: Eason Elementary Gym

Science Fair

Format: Use a 3 section folding board to display your science experiment. These can be found at office supply stores, or Target, Walmart, etc.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Name on Board
  • Title of the Project
  • What the student learned
  • Note: Electrical outlets are limited.  Refrigeration is NOT available.  No sharp items allowed.  Avoid projects that may spark or cause a fire.  Please be mindful of allergies – no nuts in the displays.

Categories for Science Fair:

Conduct an experiment.  It is helpful to include:

A question or purpose

Hypothesis – What do you think will happen?

Explanation of procedure and list of materials

Findings or results


Photos or illustrations pertaining to topic (optional)

Create an invention.  It is helpful to include a:

Helpful Books: Use a science book found at Eason’s Media center.  Just ask Mrs. Forret.  Six science experiment books were purchased by the Eason PTO for students to use at any time.

Art Fair

Create an original piece of artwork.  With your parent/guardian’s permission, use discarded or unused objects around the house to create an original piece or create a traditional piece of artwork (painting, sketching, etc.).

  • Be creative
  • Be unique
  • Be adventurous

**PRIZES** will be awarded to the class in each grade level with the most student participation.

A Submission form must be turned in with each project.  You can print it off or pick one up in the Eason office.


Eason Elementary will host Kindergarten Information Night for parents and their incoming kindergarteners (2018/2019 school year) on Monday, April 30 from 6:00 to 7:00.  The students will be divided into one of four kindergarten classrooms, and each will participate in some exciting student activities.  While they are having fun in the classroom, parents are invited to join Mr. Prohaska in the gym for some useful information about the upcoming school year.  Afterwards, parents and students will come together on the playground for a treat and some play/social time.  We hope you can join us!

If you have friends or neighbors in the Eason area who have children who will be attending kindergarten next fall, please remind them to enroll their students a.s.a.p.  Only students who have completed the online enrollment process may attend Kindergarten Information Night.

2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR

School will start Thursday, August 23 next fall.  Next year’s school calendar can be found on the district website.

Returning Students: Instructions will be emailed to parents/guardians in mid-July. Please remember your child will not be officially placed in a class until we receive your child’s online registration.

New Students (Includes Kindergarten students):  Register at any time throughout the summer at the Waukee District Office located at 560 SE University Ave., Waukee 50263. Please visit www.waukeeschools.org for more information.


All change of addresses need to be handled through Waukee Community Schools’ District office. Please take your proof of address change to the District Administrative Office at 560 S.E. University, Waukee, Iowa.

Please note: When a currently enrolled student has a change of address residency MUST be verified at the District Administrative Office.
