WD Family Fun Day: Volunteers Needed
Mark your calendars for the Family Fun Day at Woodland Hills on Saturday, April 28 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. This is a free event open to all Woodland Hills families. There will be bounce houses, carnival games, and fun!
In order to make the event a success, we need volunteers! Please access the sign-up below and consider volunteering an hour of your time that day to help our carnival run smoothly!
Meals from the Heartland: Volunteers Needed
We are excited to announce that our students will have the opportunity to partner with Meals from the Heartland for a service project on Friday, May 11.
We need volunteers! We will need parent volunteers to help make this event a success. If you are willing to donate some of your time to help our students on Friday, May 11, please access the sign-up below:

Please do not wait on 95th Street to access the parent pick up lane. If the parent pick up lane exceeds the school property, please:
- Park in the school parking lot and use the crosswalk to accompany your child to and from your vehicle.
- Park in the school parking lot until you have an opportunity to pull in the parent drop off/pick up lane.

2018 – 2019 Returning Student Registration
Instructions will be emailed to parents/guardians in mid-July. Please remember your child will not be officially placed in a class until we receive your child’s online registration.
Do you have a new phone number? Have you moved?
If you have had any changes in your phone numbers or email addresses, please call the Woodland Hills Office at 515-987-5196 or email email@example.com.
If you have moved and need to update your home address, please stop by the District Office with correct proof of residency. Paperwork can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Diversity Potluck Dinner: Tuesday, May 1
WCSD Families are invited to attend WHS International Club’s Diversity Potluck on Tuesday, May 1 in the Prairieview Commons. Doors open at 6:00 pm and we will begin eating at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a cultural dish to share with others. Place settings and drinks will be provided. There will be entertainment and activities for children and a chance for you to get to know other families in our school district. We encourage you to wear traditional clothing. Hope to see you there!
Waukee APEX Showcase: Monday, May 7
We cordially invite families and staff to visit our Waukee APEX Showcase on Monday, May 7 from 6-8 PM at the Waukee Innovation and Learning Center. Waukee APEX student associates teamed with the Science Center of Iowa to plan interactive displays perfect for all ages to share their business project work from the semester in a fun way. We will also have colleges attending from across the state and local businesses and clubs setting up information tables that evening. A truly interactive opportunity to learn more about STEM, meet our partners and gather college and career information. This night is free and open to the public. We hope you will join us!

Box Tops Contest: Ends Friday, May 4
Our second Box Tops contest for this school year ends Friday, May 4. Send your Box Tops to school in a baggie labeled with your child’s teacher’s name and how many are in the baggie – 50 per baggie. Every Box Top collected helps earn $0.10 for our school.
We are still looking for a new Co-VP for the Woodland Hills PTO. The commitment to this position is year to year. We welcome both new and experienced members of the PTO. Please reach out to us with your interest or questions at email@example.com.

Medications at School
If your child has medications that have been kept at school this year, please call the school and let us know if you will be in to pick the medication up on the last day. If I do not hear from you, medications will be sent home with your child on the last day.
