Totem Tales 4/23

Dear Families,

Regardless of the weather, spring is in full swing at Waukee Elementary. We’re working hard to finish the year strong with lots of learning and fun each day including special activities, field trips, and opportunities to get outdoors. With busy schedules outside of school this time of year, please help your child prioritize school work and get creative by taking a book to the ball fields or in the car while traveling place to place.

As we look forward to next school year we are using our enrollment data to make important decisions about number of sections and staffing needs. Here’s how you can help:

1. If you or someone you know has an incoming Kindergarten Student for 2018/19, and you haven’t already done so, please make sure to get the registration process started now by turning in the required documents listed on our district website: https://www.waukeeschools.org/students-and-parents/enrolling-your-student/programs-registration/kindergarten-enrollment/

2. If you have recently moved or will be moving within our district, please visit the District Office (560 SE University Ave. Waukee, IA) to formally change your address.

3. If you will be moving out of the Waukee CSD please e-mail our secretary, Liz Seib, at eseib@waukeeschools.org to let us know when and where you will be moving.

Thank you for your continued partnership with our school!

Mrs. Johnson

Sharpen the Saw Day- 4/27

This Friday is our 3rd Annual Sharpen the Saw Day! This is a day where we get to exercise our mind, body, and heart through various experiences around our school. It is an opportunity when we get to experience time together as a school doing physical activities, creating arts and crafts and connecting to our local community organizations. Please help remind your child to wear tennis shoes and dress in active wear on Friday.

Due to limited space capacity at our various stations, parents are not able to attend Sharpen the Saw Day. The exception would be volunteers signed up using the form below.

Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our Meals for the Heartland fundraising goal and who donated supplies!

There are still a few volunteer spots unfilled. If you are able to help out on 4/27, click here.
