Curriculum Night – August 28

During this evening, parents meet with classroom teachers to learn more about grade specific curriculum, classroom routines and expectations, as well as become better acquainted with your child’s classroom teacher.

The following schedule will, hopefully, allow for parents to attend their child(ren)’s classroom meeting:

  • 6:00-6:30 pm – Kindergarten & First Grade presentations in each classroom
  • 6:30-7:00 -pm – Related Arts Presentation in the Lunchroom
  • 7:00-7:30 pm – Second & Third Grade presentations in each classroom
  • 7:30-8:00 pm – Fourth & Fifth Grade presentations in each classroom

These meetings are for parents ONLY.  We ask that students and younger siblings do not attend.

Parent Pick Up and Drop Off Procedures

There are two options for parents dropping off or picking up children at school.

First, you may park your vehicle in the parking lot and use one of our two crosswalks to escort your child to or from your vehicle.  Children may not be in the parking lot without being accompanied by an adult. Also, if you leave your vehicle, it must to be parked in a designated parking spot and not in the student pick up lane.

Second, the outside lane of the parking lot is the student drop off/pick up lane.   Parents may wait in line and drop off/pick up their kids once their vehicle reaches the sidewalk area.  Parents in the pick up lane must stay in their vehicles. Please do not try to drive to the front and cut into the line.  This only slows down the parent pick up process. The line will continue to move forward as cars exit this lane.

Please be patient, the process is an efficient process when the procedures are followed.  It typically takes ten minutes or less to safely dismiss roughly 665 Brookview Students.

Walking to School

A crossing guard will be in place at the intersection of EP True Parkway and 78th Place from 8:35-8:50 and 3:35-3:50 to safely assist students across the street.  The corner of 81st & EP True has a four-way stop with flashing lights and can also be used as a crossing.  These are the only two crossings with stop signs.  If your child crosses at any other location, please be sure they are escorted by an adult.

Waukee Stadium Guidelines

To ensure safety and sportsmanship within our competition venues, the following guidelines have been created. We ask all Warrior fans and supporters of all ages, to abide by these guidelines. Go Warriors!

Waukee Community School District students are assigned to sit in assigned areas of the home side (west side) of Waukee Stadium:

Elementary students will not be sitting with middle/high school students, temporary bleachers will be in place for the first game. Newly constructed 10-row bleachers will hopefully be in place for the remaining games this season and years to come. Students can access this section using the walkway underneath the west (home) bleachers.
