Waukee Wins Fourth Straight Bank Iowa Challenge Cup
For the fourth consecutive year, Waukee High School (WHS) has won the Bank Iowa Challenge Cup. The Challenge Cup is an award designed to recognize Iowa High Schools for academic excellence in the classroom and outstanding achievement during state competition in athletics and the fine arts. WHS scored 1,930 points to outscore runner-up Pleasant Valley who scored 1,800 points. The 1,930 points shattered the record for most points scored set last year by WHS.

Excellence in the 3A’s (Academics, Arts and Athletics) is not new at Waukee High School. Since Bank Iowa and the Iowa High School Sports Network (IHSSN) initiated the Challenge Cup competition in 2007, WHS has placed in the top five in the point standings every year. Along with winning the cup the past three years, WHS has placed second in the standings five times.
