Hello Brookview Families! We are very excited for our carnival on Friday from 6:30-8:30 PM. This is a free event for all Brookview families. We are keeping a close eye on the weather and have a good back up plan in case of rain.
If it rains, we will relocate all activities indoors. If that happens, we likely won’t be able to Soak the Principals on Friday night. We will reschedule the soaking to occur during the school day, so if you purchased tickets (or plan to), we will Soak the Principals on another date and your tickets will go to good use.
If you can volunteer, we would appreciate your time. Volunteer opportunities can be found here
Fundraiser Tickets can be purchased through RevTrak in advance here

Collect Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House
Every year, the Ronald McDonald House uses pop tab donations to cover their energy and water bill expenses. The tabs are collected and recycled for scrap metal that is sold for money. One pound of pop tabs equals about $0.40.
Brookview students are competing by grade level to bring in the most pop tabs each month. The winning grade level gets a prize! Fifth grade students will collect tabs at the end of each month, calculate the totals, and announce the leading grade level!
Give Love and start collection!
Classroom parties and birthday treats: No homemade treats or food items are permitted. All treats must be commercially prepared and packaged for distribution with the intact ingredient label. Please refer to the Waukee Parent Handbook for more information on the Waukee Allergy Policy. The Waukee Nutrition Department has peanut free snacks for purchase. Please visit www.waukeeschools.org for more information.

Waukee Stadium Guidelines
To ensure safety and sportsmanship within our competition venues, the following guidelines have been created. We ask all Warrior fans and supporters of all ages, to abide by these guidelines. Go Warriors!
Waukee Community School District students are assigned to sit in assigned areas of the home side (west side) of Waukee Stadium:
Elementary students will not be sitting with middle/high school students, temporary bleachers will be in place for the first game. Newly constructed 10-row bleachers will hopefully be in place for the remaining games this season and years to come. Students can access this section using the walkway underneath the west (home) bleachers.
Lost and Found
Brookview’s Lost and Found can be found outside the music room. Brookview quickly accumulates a large quantity of jackets, coats, sweatshirts, hats, gloves and lunch boxes. Please check the Lost and Found area often. Twice a year – At Christmas Break and Spring Break, anything not claimed is donated to a charitable organization.
Waukee Community School District (WCSD) uses SchoolMessenger for emergency notifications. Notifications include inclement weather, late starts or other emergency situations that may arise during or after school hours. SchoolMessenger works with PowerSchool, so there is no list for parents to sign up for, however, in order for parents to receive a text message, parents must complete the “opt-in” process.
Subscribe by texting: “Y”, “Yes,” or “Subscribe” to 68453. The cell phone numbers used must be in PowerSchool to receive a notification. Unsubscribe at any time by texting the key words: “Quit”, “Remove” or “Unsubscribe” to 68453.

Brookview PTO – Give 2
Are you looking for more ways to get involved at Brookview and with the PTO? We have fun putting on all our events and activities, but it does take a group effort. If you have any time to donate, we’d love to hear from you. Check out the Give 2 Flyer (https://tinyurl.com/y93mqpj3) and complete this form (https://tinyurl.com/yb4aptdf). It’s a great way to get involved and to meet more of the great people that make up Brookview!
For more information about the PTO please visit https://sites.google.com/view/bvpto/
Brookview Helping Hands will meet Tuesday, October 9, after school from 3:45-4:45. We will start in the library and do some projects for our neighbor, Arbor Springs. If you and your child would like to attend but haven’t turned in the purple Helping Hands form yet, please send an email to Marci Hayes at: firstname.lastname@example.org to get signed up. Thank you!
The PTO is also compiling Classroom Directories this year, using a Google Form: https://tinyurl.com/y8t34p6x . Please submit one form per child, not per family. This will be the primary means used to communicate for Classroom Coordinators who will use this information for classroom parties (Fall, Harvest, Spring) as well as Staff Appreciation Events throughout the year. Teachers do not share contact information for students, so the hope is this will be a way to share classmate contact information. Once collected, this information will be shared to the parents/guardians in your child’s classroom who chose to participate in this Classroom Directory.
