News from the Woods
Run for the Hills
Run for the Hills was an amazing day and phenomenal event! Students had a great time, and we could not have asked for better weather!
As an entire Woodland Hills Family — students, families, and teachers — we raised over $53,000! (The total does not reflect the expenses — t-shirts, prizes, etc.)
We are humbled and extremely thankful for the amount of support! This money will help purchase:
- Technology for classrooms — additional and replacement iPads
- Books for the library and classrooms
- Support Woodland Hills as we start the journey of becoming a Leader in Me school
Please read the News from the Woods to see how this money is being utilized to support student learning.

Fall Harvest Party Information
The Woodland Hills Fall Harvest Parties will be held on Thursday, October 25 from 2:30 pm – 3:15 pm.
Attending the Fall Harvest Party:
If you are planning to attend the Fall Harvest Party, we ask that you complete the Fall Harvest Party Sign-Up by Wednesday, October 24.
Visitor badges will be printed in advance for parents who have completed the Fall Harvest Party Sign-Up and have had their IDs scanned into the system.
As a reminder, our district utilizes a system that requires all visitors to have their photo ID scanned and wear a visitor badge while in the building. It is required, and with many people attending that day, there could be a long wait. You will not be allowed to enter until you have been scanned into the system. If you forget a photo ID, you will not be allowed to enter.
**Please remember that these procedures have been put in place to help keep our students safe.**
Fall Harvest Party Guidelines
Our Fall Harvest Parties will be held on Thursday, October 25 from 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm. All children are invited to wear costumes at the party.
Parents, it is important that you keep the costumes as simple as possible, with little adult help needed prior to the party. Also, in an attempt to downplay the commercialization of violence and gore, we ask that you send a costume to school with your child that is appropriate for elementary children. We will not allow the wearing of costumes that portray violence, blood, gore, death themes, guns, knives, death stars, etc. Please realize that children will not be allowed to use face paints and colored hair sprays.
CHILDREN SHOULD NOT WEAR THEIR COSTUMES TO SCHOOL. They should bring their costume in a bag. Costumes will be removed before going home. Thank you in advance for adhering to our Harvest Party guidelines!
Change in Seasons
Fall weather is officially here! Please remember to have your child bring a jacket to school, as recess times can be pretty chilly! It is also helpful if you have your child’s name written inside their jacket, in case it would get misplaced.
