Visitor badges will be printed in advance for parents who RSVP by the December 19 deadline.
If guests do not pre-register for the Holiday Party by December 19, they will not be allowed to enter until they have been scanned into the system using their driver’s license. If you forget a photo ID, you will not be allowed to enter. Please remember that these procedures have been put in place to help keep our students safe.
Please use the following link to RSVP.
Brookview is piloting a new visitor system. The new system is more efficient and user-friendly. With the new system, all visitors must have their photo ID with them each time they come to Brookview.
Please keep this in mind if you are planning to visit the building. It is required and guests will not be allowed to enter until they have been scanned into the system. If you forget a photo ID, you will not be allowed to enter. Please remember that these procedures have been put in place to help keep our students safe.
Messages can be left 24 hours a day.
School hours are 8:50 am to 3:40 pm. Students may not go to classrooms or enter the building before 8:35 am.
Students eating breakfast can enter the LiveYers doors at 8:20 am but are not allowed in the hall or classroom until the 8:35 am bell.
Winter Cookies for Classroom Parties
Winter cookies are available for delivery to your student’s classroom for the Winter party on December 21. These special cookies are a 2-ounce sugar cookie, topped with three colors of crystal sanding sugars. These cookies are only available for delivery on December 21. Order deadline is December 17th. Cost is $9 per dozen. Please use RevTrak to order.
Bundle Up For Recess
Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately to go outside for recess. Hats and gloves are important during the winter months. Boots and snow pants are needed when there is snow on the ground. On snowy days, students are required to stay on the blacktop unless they are wearing boots and snow pants. Students are not allowed to stay indoors for recess without a medical excuse. Remember to label all of your child’s winter clothing.
Lost and Found
Brookview’s Lost and Found is located outside the music room. Please label all jackets, coats, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, water bottles and lunch boxes. Please check the Lost and Found area often. Twice a year, at Winter Break and Spring Break, anything not labeled is donated to a charitable organization.

When to Come to School
Any day children are free from any of the concerns listed above, they should be at school! While we certainly understand that illnesses and special circumstances are bound to happen, especially with children, please do your best to help your children be at school every day. Avoid scheduling appointments during the school day, when possible. Here are a few things to keep in mind when considering your child’s school attendance:
Why Attendance Matters
- Research shows that missing 10 percent of a school year, or two days a month, negatively affects a student’s academic performance.
- Poor attendance can influence whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade.
- When students improve their attendance rates, they improve the likelihood of school success academically and socially.
- All students in a classroom may suffer when even one student is chronically absent. The inconsistency can hamper a teacher’s ability to engage all students and meet their learning needs.

Our second annual Multicultural Day will be held on January 11th! Each grade level will learn about a different country through various activities. This event was a hit with the kids and teachers last year! We will be asking for parent volunteers to assist the ambassadors in moving from class to class during the event. Watch for a signup to be posted soon and come watch the kids enjoy learning about different cultures! The February PTO meeting will include lots of pictures from the event and a student panel that will share their experiences and thoughts on the event.
