Voters approve $117 million bond referendum for Waukee Community School District

3,310 voters turned out for Tuesday’s special election to issue general obligation bonds in the amount of $117 million. The bond referendum passed with a 90.27 percent voter approval. Sixty percent approval was needed.

Holly Showalter Receives I.O.W.A. STEM Teacher Award

Dr. Holly Showalter, the Health Science and Medicine instructor for Waukee APEX, is one of five Iowa teachers to receive the I.O.W.A. STEM Teacher Award. The recipients will be honored by Gov. Kim Reynolds at the Capitol on February 14.
