Mission and Vision Statement

The mission of the Waukee School District Computer Science program is to empower all students for the choices and challenges of the 21st Century related to careers in Computer Science by providing opportunities to prepare for successful career entry, advancement and/or  continued education.

The vision for the Waukee School District Computer Science program is to prepare and empower all students for the changing work environment, promoting communication skills, employability skills and life-management skills.


The high school computer science curriculum was reviewed and expanded during the 2012-13 school year.  Multiple course offerings are available for students to engage with the 21st Century skills from the IA Core, as they explore web design, virtual reality, programming, video production, and many other topics.
