Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) & CCRS Rubrics

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) was originally developed as an alternative to aversive interventions for small groups of disabled students. PBIS is now being applied for entire schools. This program focuses on enhancing the overall school climate and increasing positive social behavior. PBIS provides a three-tiered continuum of support for all students, addresses academic achievement, and behavior expectations are taught, practiced, and reinforced. Approximately 80% of the student population will respond to this instruction. Research shows that students learn pro-social behaviors and positive behavioral options through direct instruction and positive descriptive feedback.

Please see your child’s building webpage for more specifics on PBIS at the building level.
