Now Announcing – Waukee NWHS Assistant Principal, Christie Pitts


The Waukee Community School District is excited to announce Christie Pitts as the Assistant Principal for Waukee Northwest High School, pending Board approval on Monday.

Ms. Pitts is a Nebraska native coming to WCSD with over 26 years of educational experience as an educator and a coach, with the last 12 years being in educational leadership. Most recently, she holds the position of Associate Principal at Central High School in Davenport. Prior to her roles in leadership, Ms. Pitts taught Elementary Physical Education for 16 years. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from Central College, a Masters degree in Sport Management from Western Illinois University, and a Masters degree in Educational Administration from St. Ambrose University.

“I am so authentically ecstatic to be joining this amazing school community as the Assistant Principal,” she shared. “Building strong and effective relationships with students and staff members is one of my core values. It is my mission as part of the Northwest High School team to help establish a school where a community of parents, teachers, and staff are all committed to creating a scholastic, athletic, and artistic environment that enables all students to gain the necessary global skills to ensure lifelong success.”

Christie is the proud mother of a 14-year-old son who also looks forward to joining the Waukee Community School District in the fall. Outside of work, she loves athletics, baking, listening to music, and reading her daily devotions. Join us in welcoming Christie to the NWHS family as Assistant Principal!
