FBLA Success at National Leadership Conference

Thirty members of the Waukee Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in the 2021 FBLA Virtual National Leadership Conference from June 28 – July 2. Over the course of the four days, participants had the opportunity to connect with fellow members from across the nation, attend business meetings and workshops, elect the next group of national officers, and be recognized for their achievements in the Awards of Excellence Program.

Prior to the conference, several of those in attendance competed in various events against qualifiers from 47 states and 7 countries.  Anywhere from 100-200 competitors were in each event. All of the Waukee competitors did a great job, and we were pleased to have the following members place and advance to the finals in their events:

  • Adam Hasan placed 4th in Personal Finance.  Adam was one of only two Iowa contestants to place.
  • Harika Kanaparti and Anika Yadav advanced to the finals in the PSA event which placed them in the top 12 in the country.  Harika and Anika were one of only four Iowa presentation event contestants to advance to the final rounds.

With nationals over, the officers from the Waukee and Northwest FBLA chapters will now focus their attention on developing a full calendar of activities for next year.
