Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Community Event

On February 6, a Duck Cup Memorial Fund speaker will join Waukee CSD to discuss mental health and suicide prevention. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Northwest High School Auditorium. Students, staff, parents/caregivers, and community members are welcome to attend. The presentation is suitable for students in 5th grade and above. It’s recommended the 5th through 8th graders attend with a parent/caregiver.

The speaker will share messages around:

  • Anxiety
  • Perfectionism
  • Low self-esteem
  • Healthy & unhealthy relationships
  • Coping skills
  • Human Connection
  • You are enough

The CDC says 1 in 5 children, either currently or at some point during their life, have had a seriously debilitating mental illness. If this event helps even one family, it’ll be a success!

Please consider joining us to share this important message with our community!
