Three Waukee CSD Students Named as National Merit Finalists

The National Merit Scholarship Committee (NMSC) announced three Waukee CSD seniors are National Merit Finalists. All three seniors successfully made it past the semi-finalist round and are now among less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

  • Madhav Valiyaparambil (Waukee Northwest High School)
  • Isabella Webb (Waukee High School)

The three finalists were each given certificates, and Ava Hakala and Madhav Valiyaparambil celebrated with the teachers who profoundly impacted their learning.

The National Merit Scholarship is only one of many merit scholarships that students can win in the college application process, but it is one of the most prestigious, and it is an incredible honor to be recognized as a finalist.

Now, these academically talented students will continue to compete for one of 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million.
