Raccoon River Players Visit Eason

Gail Peckum and Mary Gillaspey from Metro Waste Authority present information on water conservation to the first grade class at Eason Elementary.

On February 17, Eason’s first grade classrooms hosted the Raccoon River Players. This is a presentation that helps the kids be more aware of how to help keep our Earth clean and green.  The program is presented by Gail Peckum and Mary Gillaspey from Metro Waste Authority.  The students watched three short skits on helping keep the earth clean.  The ideas that were addressed were: litter going down the drain when it ends up on the ground (garbage, oil, pet waste), Regional Collection Center in Bondurant as a location to dispose of hazardous chemicals, as well as the trading you can do to get certain products free when people bring them there, and different examples of litter bugs (at the movies, sports games, in the car, outside).
