Maple Grove Elementary Hosts Leadership University Family Event
On April 2, Maple Grove Elementary (MG) hosted a Leadership University family event. This event was an opportunity for families to learn about the 7 Habits and how to use them at home. The seven habits are seven ways to promote doing the right thing for yourself and others. The idea for this event came from visits to other schools. Through the school year, the staff leadership teams at Maple Grove have had the opportunity to visit other leadership schools with a 7 Habits focus for additional ideas!
“We planned the event together, and each of us became leaders of a specific part,” MG ESL teacher Trina Graen said. The teachers and students did a fantastic job and deserve a round of applause! We raised over $2,100 at our raffle event, which included mega raffle items like an X Box One, principal for a day, vice principal for a day, a $100 Target gift card and many more exciting items.
“My favorite part was the speaking,” 4th grader Jenna Vanorny stated. Jeanna was one of many 4th and 5th grade leaders, staff and community groups who shared information throughout the evening.
In conclusion, Leadership University was a great success!
