Shuler Second Graders Give Back

Second graders at Shuler Elementary along with some of our classroom buddies have been busy creating some holiday cheer this season. We adopted 5 families from the Waukee area through the Waukee Police Department Holiday Drive.

This is the third year the Shuler second grade classrooms have helped to give Waukee families a reason to find hope during the holiday season. We received a list of wants and needs for each child in a family.  The wish lists were sent out to the parents of our students and families volunteer to fill the items needed.

The students then got to wrap and bag up the gifts for each child. This community service project was a meaningful way for our students to be caring and respectful of community members in need.  This continues to be a project that gives our students and the families receiving the gifts a sense of joy and cheer.
