Millennium Named Grand Champion at Southeast Polk
Waukee High School’s varsity show choir, Millennium, won top honors Feb. 23 at the Southeast Polk and Music Showcase.
Millennium, directed by Matt Huth with assistance from Caroline Byrd, was named grand champion of the competition, taking home awards for Best Band, Best Vocals, Best Choreography, and Grand Champion. This is the third straight sweep Millennium has had this season. This ties the school record for Millennium.
The junior varsity show choir, Spirit, also competed and took home fourth-place honors. Spirit is directed by Ben Walters with assistance from Byrd.
Both groups will travel to Westwood Sloan High School on March 9 to conclude their competition season. There will also be a final concert 7 p.m. on Monday, March 11 at the Waukee High School Auditorium that will feature all three Vocal Jazz groups as well as the two Show Choirs.
