5th Grade students study family heritage
As we start the new semester, students in fifth grade will be creating videos about an aspect of their heritage. Over winter break, students interviewed a family member that was the greatest distance from their age. They will be using the answers to those interview questions to write an essay comparing and contrasting their life to the life of the person they interviewed.
In the computer lab they will record themselves reading their essay to put into their video. Students were also encouraged to ask for pictures from the person they interviewed that showed aspects of that person’s life, as well as bring in pictures from their own lives. In music, students will be creating music in the program, Garageband to put in the background of their videos. Students will use the program, iMovie, to put all of these different pieces together to tell their story.
