Shuler 5th Graders Explore Scientific Process
Fifth grade students at Shuler Elementary are learning about the scientific process. During science, students are scientists. They are creating experiments, testing a hypothesis, and making conclusions based on their scientific findings. Students are currently in the Foss Food and Nutrition Module. Students have been working with different types of foods and they have been checking them for the amount of fat in each item. Students are measuring the grease spots left behind from each food item to state which foods have the most fat. Students will also be learning about the the six groups of chemicals called nutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, minerals, and water. Students are enjoying the hands-on experimenting.
