Thanks for Your Support – Referendum Passes with 92% Yes Vote
Waukee Community School District would like to thank all those who voted in the February 4 special election. The bond referendum passed with a 92% yes vote. As a district we are humbled and honored by the support our community has for our district.
The sale of $18.9 million in general obligation bonds will be used to fund the construction of elementary school number eight at the intersection of Dartmoor and Douglas Parkway in the city of Waukee, which is slated for a June 2016 completion and HVAC upgrades at Brookview Elementary School occurring in the summer of 2015.
“The completion of these projects will allow us to stay in front of our growth, providing quality spaces for our elementary students education and relieving some of the enrollment pressures we are seeing at the elementary level,” David Wilkerson, superintendent of schools, said.
