It’s hard to believe we’re sending out the welcome back letter already! We are excited to welcome everyone to the 2014-15 school year, including our 13 new staff members, our new sixth grade students (numbering more than 320) and our nearly 50 new-to-Waukee students. Our new staff numbers includes changes in our administrative team; Adam Shockey is the new principal of Waukee Middle School (WMS) and Brian Carico is the new assistant principal.
Get to know Adam Shockey
Hello, WMS students and families! My name is Adam Shockey and I am excited to serve in this role as your principal; it truly is an honor to be in this position. I have been part of the Waukee Schools for the last five years, first as a teacher, then as the assistant principal of WMS and now I will begin my sixth year as your principal. I have worked in a variety of school districts prior to joining the Waukee Community School District (WCSD), including Waverly, IA, Wheaton, IL, and Chandler, AZ. Having been a part of a number of different districts, I can say with certainty both as an educator and as a parent that I am proud of the work we do here in WCSD. I am excited to carry on that high quality work.
On a personal note, I have a wonderful wife and three children, Caden (7), Graysen (4), and Marin (1). They certainly keep me busy! Caden is also a student in our district, so my family also benefits from the quality education WCSD offers to its students.
As we move throughout this school year, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or feedback. I can be reached by email at email@example.com or by phone at 515.987.5177. I look forward to working with all of you!
