4th grade students take part in Creative Writing Leaders Club

Fourth graders at Maple Grove have the opportunity to participate in a Creative Writing Leaders Club.  The group meets during recess every other week to learn new writing techniques and have the opportunity for creative collaboration and peer review.  They have worked on perspective writing, poetry, and even published a newspaper.

Through the newspaper project, they were able to specialize their writing. Student articles ranged from an interview with the principal, a fashion segment, weather, comics, book and movie reviews, to highlighting writing from other students.  These young writers are passionate and have enjoyed the opportunity to learn and share their love of writing with their peers.

Elissa Burrows, Ellie Matlock, and Zelle Walters participate in a peer review as part of the Creative Writing Leaders Club.
