Waukee High School Hunger Banquet 2015
Waukee High School (WHS)’s Voices for Hope group will host their 2nd Annual Hunger Banquet during the entire third block at WHS on April 22. It costs $10 per person and all proceeds go to Meals from the Heartland. Local businesses such as Hy-Vee and Mama Lacona’s will be donating to this year’s event.
This event is a hands-on simulation replicating the unequal distribution of wealth around the world in the form of a banquet. Last year’s inaugural event was very successful, with more than 150 high school students participating and raising more than $1,500 for Meals from the Heartland! The money raised from that one event paid for all meal packaging materials for the meal packaging portion of that event, which occurred after the banquet.
Hope to see all WHS students at this year’s Hunger Banquet!
