District Caps Enrollment in Grades 2-5 at Shuler Elementary
Due to increasing enrollment levels at Shuler Elementary School, Waukee Community School District is capping enrollment in grades 2-5 at Shuler starting August 11, 2015.
The cap will not affect students returning to Shuler Elementary or families who have completed the enrollment process prior to August 11.
Any new students moving into the Shuler Elementary boundaries in those grades will be assigned as follows:
- East of Alice’s Road assigned to Eason Elementary
- West of Alice’s Road assigned to Waukee Elementary
The following School Board policies allow the District to cap enrollment:
Policy 501.15 Student Assignments and Policy 603.2-R(0) Insufficient Classroom Space outline the process and procedures for student attendance center assignments, as well as the process for assigning and recalling students in situations when there is insufficient classroom space to serve all students in a given attendance area.
Waukee Community School District prides itself on providing optimal learning experiences for all of our students. Regardless of your student’s attendance area, they will receive an outstanding education from a caring and dedicated staff.
